Welcome to my web site. I am Matt Hewitt.
I am a professional carpenter, joiner and cabinet maker. My career began in the UK in 1994 where I learnt my trade at Parkwood college, Sheffield, and as an apprentice of Oakbrook Joinery. I then moved on to Holland where I ran my own business successfully for 15 years. Over the years my passion for woodworking and the on-going journey of learning and improving as a craftsman has led me to explore many different woodworking disciplines. My experience ranges from carpentry through to luxury yacht fitting. I am a versatile craftsman who loves his work and have 20 years worth of experience and satisfied customers behind me.
The successful completion of your project on time and on budget to your satisfaction are my goals. I have a registered business (SIRET 793 821 604 00022) and am located between Mirepoix and Castelnaudary in the Aude reigon of France. I have the appropriate insurance Decennale and Responsabilite Civile which is a requirement for all artisans working in France. I relocated from Amsterdam to the Ariege with my wife Jolijn in January 2013 in search of adventure, something different from our city lives and, for me, new woodworking challenges.
